Students will work individually and in groups to analyze data. Students will examine data from video, text, and multimedia sources. Students will synthesis that data into a 5-paragraph essay comparing and contrasting how television of the 1950’s reinforced the social norms of the era with how television of the 2010’s reinforces the social norms of the era. Students will engage in a class discussion debriefing their essays.
Each student will create a map of an imaginary New Hampshire town, taking into consideration the placement of each colonist with regard to his/her needs and the needs of the town. Students will conduct internet research on colonial occupations, and they will write a journal entry from the point of view of one of the colonists outlined in the packet.
